As NSE continues to grow we are seeking someone to assist and support the Head of League Operations in running the British University Esports Championship and other NSE tournaments. During university term time this will involve working evenings and weekends whilst overseeing online student esports tournaments for multiple different game titles. During the off-season hours will match the normal working week as you help prepare for the next season. This is a rare opportunity for a permanent role at the centre of the university esports. The successful candidate will bring a genuine passion for and understanding of the university esports scene.

Overview

NSE (National Student Esports) has grown rapidly since its inception in 2018 and is now the largest grassroots gaming community in the UK. Across everything, we take a student-first approach to ensure we always add value to the community. We elevate students’ university esports experience, helping them now and in their future careers. We use our knowledge to help academic institutions, games publishers, and sponsors support the student community.

The British University Esports Championship (BUEC) is the official competition of UK university esports and at the very core of NSE. The successful candidate will get the chance to work alongside the Head of League Operations in devising and delivering BUEC, plus a range of other tournaments that NSE is providing to our ever-growing student community.

The successful candidate will be at the heart of the UK university esports scene and will benefit from the extensive league operations experience already within NSE.

Role Summary

The successful candidate will bring a genuine passion for and understanding of the university esports scene.Key Responsibilities

  • Manage general competition operations including setting up tournaments, assisting with issues on tournament evenings, updating points tables
  • Communication with teams between events
  • Assist with league investigations and competitive rulings
  • Managing and training new student contractors
  • Assisting on the planning of future tournaments and events

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Good customer service skills
  • Proficient in Google Suite, particularly Google Sheets.
  • Previous experience running online esports tournaments using tournament platforms
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A passion for university esports
  • Experience working on esports broadcasts is desirable, but not required
