Location: Central London with option to work remotely 1-2 days per week

This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role across our portfolio of projects. You will help drive the team while being supported to learn and flourish and get to know the sport industry in a fast paced, exciting and entrepreneurial business.

Role Summary

The Project Manager will form part of the Sport Industry Group team, working across our portfolio of projects. The successful candidate will lead on key elements of the Sport Industry Awards – the largest commercial sports Awards in the world, and will project manage our leading professional development programme, Sport Industry NextGen; our exclusive invitation-only members club, the Sport Industry Private Dining Club; as well as bespoke events for our partners. The successful candidate will also be involved in partner management and other projects on the horizon. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing key elements of the Sport Industry Awards: Managing the budget (with the Event Director), entries/entrants, Judging Process, Official Shortlist/winner communications, Sport Industry Shortlisted attendees, and event (venue, suppliers and the night) and tables/tickets purchasers. Primary role in the lead up to the Awards will be managing all tables/tickets including sending emails, invoicing, managing guests’ details, sending out tickets and creating the table plan. On the Awards evening you will be managing the entry process and supporting the Event Director.
  • Project managing Sport Industry NextGen: Managing the budget, applications, Coaches, Selection Process and Leadership Package, as well as acting as the key contact for these rising stars of the industry throughout the year.
  • Project managing the Sport Industry Private Dining Club: Managing the budget, members (including invoicing) and events (venue, suppliers, and the night).
  • Project managing Bespoke Events: Managing the budget, attendees, and physical/digital events (venue, suppliers, and the day/night).
  • Partner management: Managing allocated partners together with the team to ensure we activate their partnerships effectively. 

There will be further responsibilities as new projects are created.  

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of three years’ project management experience.
  • Successful track record of project management from conception through to execution.
  • Digital and physical project delivery experience.
  • Budget management experience.
  • Knowledge of and/or desire to work in the sport industry.
  • Interest in being involved and helping to create a more diverse and vibrant industry.
  • Confident, hard-working, and self-motivated individual.
  • Ability to multi-task and work efficiently on projects running concurrently.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills, with the ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills both internally and externally.
  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
  • Shows initiative and the ability to problem solve.
  • Calm and focused under pressure.
  • Works well autonomously as well as part of a team.
  • Basic knowledge and/or understanding of events is desirable.
